Meanwhile, a number of other, smaller groups responded to the growing chaos in different ways. Some polished their weapons, some said prayers, some communed with nature, some drank and loaded their guns. A few sat in thought, overjoyed about the foreigners and apprehensive of the violence. Smaller groups, so only around 3-4 members.

Polished Weapons -> Some warrior tribe
Said prayers -> Clerics or Monks
Communed with nature -> Druids
Drank & loaded guns -> Pirates


Then there's the beeps, one person who smiles in darkness, a few overjoyed by the violence.


The 3 main factions probably have 5 members like we do. That leaves 15 more peeps. If we reason the smaller faction have 3 people there's 5 smaller factions. The 4 mentioned above + the beeps, although there's still "that one person".
First OP says there are elemental forces with very tough types, so that's likely.


We need to kill the druids or pirates so we can probably ally with the monks and the warrior tribe.

That sounds like 3 different people to me, a robot, a beast and some ancient being. Perhaps they are allied or friendly to the factions? (robot to us, being to mages, beast to marana?)

Theory:

There are 4 groups of 3: pirates, warriors, druids, monks/priests and the 3 individuals I mentioned above

Each major faction's win condition is: kill the other 2 major factions, kill the pirates, kill the one subfaction opposed to them.

Pirates win if they kill the main factions?
Each of the minor factions has survival as their win conditions?
